CFE, BFE host forum to tackle growing legal cases against journalists in Botswana

November 7, 2023
Campaign for Free Expression (CFE) in partnership with the Botswana Editors Forum (BEF) and the INK Centre for Investigative Journalism on Tuesday hosted a Media Defence Seminar to tackle issues relating to legal cases that are against journalists across local publications.
The seminar gathered local press from various publications, broadcasting stations and independent journalists to analyse the high number of ongoing legal cases against local journalists and the disciplinary nature of the significance of damages awarded to litigants in the judgements that have been passed on some of these cases to date.
